Dillard's 1

First of all, to Liquidsilver.. I agree with Anonomousme2, that was very ignorant!!  Some people will temporarily work at Dillard's WHILE they are searching for new jobs, but unfortunately have to stay until then.  You cannot just pick up and find a new job in one day.   Dillard's will hire anyone, and it unprofessionally reflects in their turnaround time.

Dillard's will hire just about anyone at a higher pay than other "dime a dozen" retail stores, (but mind you the higher pay is very very temporary.  They conivingly steer you away from that truth during the entire hiring process).  Because of that fact, it is sometimes people's last resort, as they are desperate for a job.  Once they get hired on to Dillard's, it is all they can do to ever so painfully work for the crappy, corrupt company while they are trying to raise a family, go to school and look for another job.

So Liquidsilver.. lay off and go post elsewhere.

When I quit ten months ago (the Ogden Utah store)  it was the best thing I ever did for myself.  It took me a good few weeks to fully get my health back.  Working at Dillard's really does poison the mind, body and spirit.  Almost everyone I knew who worked there had directly told me that after starting working at Dillard's their health deteriorated in one way or another.  Oh yes,  and another thing. To the few posters who said things such as; "people who complain about working at Dillard's are just lazy/bad workers/can't handle it (etc etc)" ... those people are content in their ignorance and really do need to post elsewhere until they can educate themselves as to how Dillard's really works.  I am always somewhat amused when they say such things, but it more-so irritates me.  These people either (A.) Work at Dillard's as a manager (B.) are one of the greedy sales associates who step on everyone's toes and do not do a single thing to help the department or their fellow associates just to keep their sales up and are just kissing ass thinking that one of their managers might read their post  (C.) are someone from Corporate or someone who is a higher-up and are by default defending their corrupt company (D.) is a customer of Dillard's who has absolutely no clue whatsover as to what really goes on behind the scenes.   Anyway, the great thing is that I have since obtained a high paying job where I am treated respectfully, I am rewarded for doing good work, I am not punished for having to take time off work and when I do miss a day or two from being sick or what not they are just fine with it, when I DO call in sick or go home sick I am not required to get a note from a doctor with my full diagnosis as to what is wrong with me (which is a complete violation of privacy laws),  they do not have an "eight tardies and you're fired" policy (To give one example which actually happened to me once, thirty SECONDS late equals a tardy even if it is because the people working in customer service or the surveillance room took their sweet time in unlocking the employee door.  They still gave the tardy to me anyway!) ... in fact where I work now they are pretty flexible with that as long as it does not get out of hand and I am not too late or if I have a good excuse for being late.  Anyway my point is that I am happy now with my current line of work.  It really puts things in perspective as to how horrendous, unreasonable, employee unfriendly and corrupt Dillard's is.  I am so happy for those of you who were able to escape the personal Hell you had to be subjected to. And for those of you who are still stuck there,  keep your heads held high because you will get out.  You will find a company out there who will give you the respect you rightfully deserve and you will no longer have to have your pay CUT for working your ass off.  Be patient and it will happen!

And to those of you who try to defend Dillard's here is some advice:  LEARN THE TRUTH and read all the posts before leaving your own! :o)

Just so everyone knows... these four replies are from another one of my posts from five months ago. For some odd reason it carried over to this one!! Not sure why that happened??
