Abady Dog Food
5
I have been feeding my Golden Retriever Abady Grandular for 3 1/2 years since he was 2 months old beginning with Maintence and Stress and the for the past couple of years the Competition and Stress Formula. After reading a number of articles Dr. Abady wrote about Canine health and feeding, I couldn't in my right mind imagine feeding my pup anything but Abady. I even went so far as to call the company speaking to a wonderful gal who told me her parents had goldens and were so pleased with their coats and general health.
I too have (or had) a vet that had never heard about this food, and she still doesn't after hearing about from me for three years and never doing any research on it. She's done!
My Golden certainly does not have the "usual" Golden temperment or laid back demeanor. He is Highly energetic and crazy for the sports he competes in. In Flyball, he's our start dog running a consistent 4.4 seconds, and he hold's the current Top Nationally ranked Golden Retirever in Dockdogs. I truly believe that I get the best performance out my dog as a result of feeding Abady.
In addttion, we are continually complemented on his appearance and muscle tone from both other dog owners as well as professionals who work with animals large and small, his Chiropractor, and Hydrotherapy Professional to name a couple we've seen that help to keep him at his peek performance levels.
I have noticed that within the past year he licks the bottoms of his feet. Some would say that is a definite sign of allergies. My vet thought beef (I know that couldn't be), or she thought dust mites, it could be anything. But herein lies that fact that if this the only thing I have to "deal' with considering the history Goldens have for so many diseases and disorders associated with Golden history, I'm really lucky to have none of those to contend with presently. He also has Excellent hips, unlike his Mother who was given a borderline. This could well be the food, but I know all his siblings and have not heard of any problems with them thus far.
I had great experience talking with the gals at Abady, on the numerous occasions I've called them with questions!! The possible allery and licking thing, they researched it, talked with Dr. Abady and returned my call promptly helping to eliminate all possiblities that could be the casue for this issue, with Dr. Abady finally saying I should add a special supplement to his food.
I am fortunate to be around so many people who know so much about dog food, have their opinions and suggestions about feeding, supplments, vitamins, raw vs. the others....yadda yadda yadda......and I listen to what these inidividuals say...But I certainly don't bash the food they feed as some here are doing so rudely and without merit.
I trust what Dr. Abady knows because I know he is first and foremost concerned about the health and well being of my dog.
