From Wikipedia: "Dharmic faith, is one of the world's major religions, with between 230 to 500 million followers, most of them living in Asia.[1] Over the centuries, many different schools of Buddhism have developed. The most commonly recognized traditions of Buddhism are Mahayana and Theravada."

Buddhism 4

I have a real interest in the teaching of Buddhism.  It is truly a peaceful way of life.  Many of the principles that Buddhists follow are very similar to Christianity.  The only part about Buddhism that is hard for me to see is its classification as a religion.  The difference with Buddhism compared to other religions is the fact that Buddhism does not necessarily have a conception or perspective of a supreme, omnipotent being such as God.  In Buddhism, Buddha is not actually viewed or revered as”God.” Siddhartha Gautama, often seen as the first “Buddha,” is revered as “the enlightened one.”  This is not necessarily mean he is a god.  Nonetheless, I think Buddhism is a remarkable philosophy and way of life.  It lays out a very noble way to live with your neighbors and yourself.
