Tim Hortons

Granted, Tim Hortons may not be the best place for 'everyone' to work. If you have a problem dealing with [sometimes downright stupid] people, then this probably isn't the right job for you. I'm currently employed in a Timmies and have been working my butt off there for seven months and I have to say I disagree with what some of the comments here are stating. My store is understaffed as well, and some nights are really hard, but I find that if everyone really honestly and truly pulls their weight, not one of the customers has to wait for 15 to 20 minutes for a cup of coffee, thus lowering the level of stress to the worker. As to the issue dealing with not enough respect being given in the work place, I think you need to ask yourself, are you actually working? Countless people have worked at my store and complained that they weren't getting the respect that they deserved from neither management nor the customers [or even their own co-workers], but upon studying their actions during their shifts, they did didly squat. Wow, maybe they poured a couple cups of coffee and did a chore or two, but come on, is that really enough to gain recognition, let alone a major amount of respect in your store? On the flip side of this though, I've only worked at one store and have heard horror stories of Tim Hortons transfers and how their managers and supervisors treat them at their old stores, so for workers that really do have that problem and are working their asses off with nothing to show for it, I'm sorry for you guys and hope you can get out of there and possibly transfer to a different store or find another job that hopefully goes better for you. Again, if you work hard, pull your weight and actually do the whole 'Tim Hortons' team thing, you'll get somewhere in the Timmies world and will more than likely have a really great working experience, gain some new friends and have a job that continually challenges you and inspires you to find creative solutions for not only problems at work, but for problems that personal life deals you as well. And who knows, if you work hard enough, management might see how hard a worker you are and other doors may open for you.
