Chuck Swindoll 1

Chuck Swindoll is shallow and puffed up with pride. Many years ago I worked at Forest Home Conference Center which is a christian conference center in the San Bernardino mountains of southern California  I worked for a dept head which caused me to interface with the bible teachers that were featured key note speakers. At one point during Chuck Swindoll's stay - I had to interface with him.  That day at that moment I witnessed a man (Chuck Swindoll) who looked down on me and in his interaction with me (whereas he derided me) I saw and smelled the arrogance as part of his essence - which was greater than any other individual I have ever interfaced with (which include ungodly - unsaved sinners) You can go on about him in glowing terms all you want -BUT I KNOW WHAT I SAW THAT DAY - AND IT WASN'T PRETTY.

O.k., great, thanks, but no one cares about your unfortunate encounter with Swindoll. There's not a person alive that doesn't have someone like you out there. Swindoll may have very well have been arrogant and a downright jerk to you, that day. Well, wake up and smell the coffee - he's human. Everyone is an arrogant jerk from time to time, even mother Teresa and Billy Graham. I've personally met Swindoll several times, helped to found his church (as a layperson) and have listend to hundreds of his sermons and read a half dozen books. I can testify with certainty that Swindoll , while human, is anything but an arrogant person as a whole. (as compared to most other people) And more importantly, I can testify that you'll never hear arrogance in Swindoll's preaching.

We that are saved are not perfect, just forgiven. All of us fall short every day but it's Christ in us that makes us set apart, not our actions. Everybody is not sunshine and light every minute of the day. I rest in Christ, not in a preacher or teacher. They are not perfect but my God is. That's good news.
