Two Small Men with Big Hearts 1

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! At all costs, if you have given them a deposit get it back and run like hell. They picked up my long-distance move Aug 22, 4 hours late. The movers apeared to be high, and they moved slower than molases, and our landlord reported seeing them damage our property during loading (it was a highrise). They also reportedly stole paint from the appartments backroom.

We were told Sept 5 at the latest. Repeated phone calls and messages left result in nothing. The bimbo receptionist 'doesn't know' if they have a head office or boss. When we did get someone randomly on the phone all we got were lies, 'they be here x day' this would obviously pass without result. As of today September 30, 2007 we have not recieved our property, 40 days after pickup. We have begun the process of filing with the BBB, we have also been instructed to speak with our insurance company.

They have our whole lives on that truck, nearly everything my boyfriend and I have accumulated in our lifetimes. Degrees, cloths, pictures, furiture, electronics, books, kitchenware (including heirloom items), school-research work, etc etc. My blood is boiling I am so furious with the way I have been treated and the fact they have stolen my proptery as far as I am concerned. This will not pass, I am determined to ensure that the public is aware of this.

How in the hell have they won "Consumer Choice" awards? They need to be removed from this list as well.

If anyone has any suggestions please reach me (Sara) at stomlin2@uwo.ca.

Hi Sara, I certainly know what you are going through from experience. I did file a complaint with BBB...although from further research really doesn't make a difference. I complained to the Consumer Choice Awards also...they did response, but only to say they would check it out. I have filed a complaint with Consumer Protection and suggest you do the same. After much research although to late for us and countless others the only way to get change is to lobby government to make change within the entire moving company industry. It is a long road to go down but we must start somewhere. The real estate industry has standards to follow along with many other industries/services and its time the moving industry had standards and acts to follow. Right now the consumer is basically hostage to moving companies and this has to change. Join the cause and make noise in government. Although not all moving companies are the same as Two Small Men with Big Hearts, it only takes one bad apple to spoil the basket! Those reputable moving companies should want to be involved in making the industry more accountable since bad publicity affects all! Keep moving forward. PS: Update on my situation: they finally arrived, over one month late, although the guys who delivered were fine there is a lot of damaged items, things missing, so that battle continues. It's a funny thing also, in my research the same excuses were given to consumers for years now, i.e. managment changes, transportation issues, etc....as we are seeing this company has serious issues, and I have been finding out that there are more issues within that company...scary. I wonder why anyone would want to own or be a part of this franchise when there are better ones to own...unless they like treating the consumer in unacceptable and disrespective ways!
