Don't bank there. My parents have had severe health problems recently, and to enable me to take care of them and handle their affairs, we went to the various banks (12 of them) where they had CDs and deposit accounts. Every bank, when we explained the situation to them, retitled the accounts, and more importantly, the CDs to joint holding, adding my name. Except that is, Suntrust. Not after three visits by may parents and me. Not after talking to the lower level person, the branch manager, and not even after a call to the regional person. They said we had to break the CD and incur a penalty to do this. The only bank out of 12 that included 3 national banks, 3 regionals, and 6 local/community banks.
They are horrible.
