your comment is very ignorant.  obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. How dare you say that the workers are just lazy.  if you had any idea as to the ways of dillards you would realize it is just the opposite.  the lazy workers are the ones who profit and the hard workers...the ones who take pride in their job actually suffer.  I worked at dillards for three years and had 3 different managers who all said what a hard worker i was.  but alas hard work does not pay off.  Instead all my hard work cost me my job.  in order to do mark downs and put up stock i had to be off the selling floor because i worked in shoes and our stock was in the back...so some days i would spend up to 5 hours in our stock room because the lazy ones wouldn't do it and since i was in the stock room and not on the floor selling my sales were not met and i was fired.  the lazy ones are the ones who will only sell and nothing else and they are the ones who get ahead at dillards.  before you make comments you should educate yourself on the topic.

I was one of the unfortunate souls who took it upon myself to try to make the department clean and organized by doing the stock and reorganizing the home department everytime my manager wanted it reorganized (which was every freakin' day) so I got a paycut. One paycut was enough and I quit. That place was NOT worth it.

I agree with you. I would say that I am still working in Dillards right now in ladies shoe department. I know how it goes working in shoes especially if you are working with some lazy-sharks folks who are only interested of staying in the floor and run-around to all customers who walk-in and sell everything but other than that, hell doesn't even spend 10 minutes doing the stocks or if they do, it takes them an hour to just do one box of shoes.. Of course doesn't even care for the markdowns at all!

It is a very hard job and I feel for the other older lady that I worked with. (only 2 of lady working there for 6 months icluding myself). This is one of the reason why I am still working with them becuase this older lady would have few months to work untill she retires and she told me that she could not make it by herself alone without my help. We can rely each other, we both do stocks, clean the floor, do markdowns but negative thing our ASM is relying on us so much for the reason that she could not get the boys to work inside the stockroom, though how many time she said so, and that is terrible! She is very nice though and very hardworking and helped us the best she can.

Gladly I have a good clientelle so I am making commission just almost every month. I sell everything I could becuase it is not really worth it to stay and work in a high pressure job if I am not making any money at all. If I am schedule in the morning shift I cam-in early so I could work in the stockroom so when I do the store open I am in the floor and doing re-organizing, cheking the labels & dusting!

Working in Dillards is a whole lot of a job and hardly had a rest at all especially in a peak seasons and the way they do schedulling too.
