I am using the 15w-40 diesl oil in my gas powered boat (30 hours per year) engine and so far there has been no problem , likewise I have put 5w-30 into my tow vehicle (jeep 4.0 liter) with no problems so far. I use a nice quality oil filter and regular yearly chnages of oil
