I agree with everyone that TCF is the worst. I have had my account for about a month and they have sent me the wrong checks--twice. They sent me two debit cards and then when I cancelled one of them, of course, it was the one in which my pin was tied to so I had to go into the bank to correct it and then wait another 2-3 days because the idiots can't do it for you right away. I deposited a sizable amount of cash and a larger check and they held my money until the larger cleared which took 6 business days. In the mean time they returned four of my checks and charged me $132 in fees although I had the money sitting there. They refunded $99 but won't budge on the last fee. I have had to suffer the embarrassment of using my card several times only to be told it was "declined" yet I know that my money is just sitting there. They treated me like I wrote bad checks even though I had money in there. I opened my account because of convenience and it has cost me more time and money than it has been worth. I will close my account as soon as the checks I have written clear. DON'T BANK WITH THEM. BANK WITH KLEIN BANK. I never had issues with them.
