Advantage Rent-A-Car
1
Advantage Rent A Car does not seem to be a reasonable choice for rental cars in Salt Lake City, or anywhere else. Here are three observations about my experience. First, when I got to the desk at the airport, the customer service representative indicated that even though the website indicated that I would receive a Chrysler Town & Country van or similar (extended room for luggage, 6 cylinders), the only vehicle available in the class I reserved was a base model Dodge Caravan (no luggage room, 4 cylinders). I was told I could get a Hyundai Entourage (extended room for luggage, 6 cylinders) for $200 more. Classic bait and switch, but with a deceitful twist.
Second, while the other rental car companies have vehicles on-site at the Salt Lake City airport, I had to wait for an Advantage bus which took me on a long ride to their off-airport location. Third, the vehicle I rented had a cracked windshield, high mileage, and an unsettling engine noise.
I rent vehicles often for business and pleasure travel. My experience with Advantage Rent A Car qualifies as the wost ever. I hope that my review might help others avoid the mistake I made.
