GE Americana Series 1

To sum it up in one word: JUNK! This dishwasher has been the bane of my existence. I have tried everything to get this dishwasher to actually wash dishes. The dishwasher is only just over one year old. I've tried cleaning all the filters and parts. I've tried multiple brand-name detergents. I've tried dishwasher liquid cleaning products to cycle through the dishwasher. I've tried rinse agents. I pre-rinse all dishes that go into the dishwasher. And I've also tried loading as little as 1/2 of its dish capacity. But no matter what I've tried this dishwasher has constantly failed me on every single wash, leaving behind small food particles and detergent films.

I absolutely recommend that everyone in the market for a dish washer stays as far from this series as possible. Do not let the price of the dishwasher entice you to select it. You will be utterly disappointed and will end up purchasing a better dishwasher shortly thereafter.

Spend a little more money up front in order to save yourself the complete aggravation that I have experienced.

Sounds like we have the exact same dishwasher, with the exact same problems. Glad to know I'm not the only one! I have a fight with this dishwasher pretty much every time I use it. I rinse everything that goes into it really well, usually with soap. I know, after all that, what's the point of the dishwasher? And yes, that is my point.

Every dish that goes in there is pretty clean as it goes in. Most of the time, they come out dirtier than they went in. Sometimes there are mysterious food particles that appear from nowhere. Sometimes there's cloudy residue inside my wine glasses. Almost always, there is soapy film on everything. Enough soapy film that drinking water from one of the glasses even tastes soapy if it's not thoroughly rinsed afterwards. And by thoroughly rinsed, I mean that you actually have to work pretty hard at getting the film off... just running it under water won't work.

I too have tried a variety of dishwashing detergent, with results ranging from bad to worse.

We rent, so we're kind of stuck with this piece of crap. But we're on the verge of just buying a better dishwasher anyway. That or use it as a fancy drying rack for all the dishes I'll be hand washing from now on.

KEEP AWAY FROM THIS DISHWASHER!
