Breaking out of my Hunnic combination heathen and Calvinistic past, I have been taking Catholic religious instructions from the Jesuit Fathers. I went to a Latin High Mass on Christmas Eve. What a beautiful, historical, and spiritual event. I see why Catholicism has persisted these last 2000 years.

"beautiful, historical, and spiritual." Indeed. I do regret the Vatican II decision to do away with Latin from religious services. The vernacular does not hold sway to the same degree.
