Diamond Pet Foods 4

I bought a new bag of Kirkland premium lamb, rice and vegetable 2 days ago and my great dane woke up last night (she always sleeps through the night) and had diahrea with blood in it. She has been on this food her whole life (she's 2 yrs) and never had a problem. I am going to call Costco today and see if anyone else has complained. The exp. date is June 2009. Anyone else having a problem???

Gidget, I have been a great Dane breeder for 20 years and have had great success with Diamond. When I read your post I feel that you may be looking at worms rather than a feed problem. Wormers kill adult worms only and this is a simple fix. I don't know your worming schedule so I am at a loss there, that would be my first thing to do see whats up with the parasites. If the dog is free of them then look farther, but what you described seems like a simple worm problem. I hope this helps. I won't feed any other food to my Danes than Diamond I feed the Hi Energy or the Green depending on the time of the year. I don't have allergy problems or sensitive stomachs so I have never fed the Lamb formulas. Diamond doesn't often alter their formulas from batch to batch, that is why worms were my first thought. good luck.

why would you feed kirkland brand food to a breed that already isnt expected to live long? spend the money and help your dog live a long and healthy life. kirkland costco pfft. youre also supporting communism. holistic or homemade is the way to go.

that has nothing to do with the food. sounds to me like your dog has parvo. has your dog lost its appetite and been vommitting?
