You know, one comment about Mariah sticks with me, it was something in relation as to why one did not find her in the least bit appealing, he wrote, "typical Yank." And I thought for a moment, does Mariah embody the attitude of Americans, and is this why many don't agree with her. Her desperate need to be adored and praised by the masses which deteriorates the essence of who she truly is, does this bother us; because it is something we see in ourselves. They say she is manufactured, but Mariah is a product she herself created, in the image of the pin-up girlesque Marilyn Monroe, maybe it is the insecurity of wanting to be someone else which is a bitter reminder of ourselves. An instructor of mine has said some pretty nasty things about Mariah, and she loathes the way Mariah holds herself, like the prideful Barbie she emulates. I didn't ask her, "Well, if you could fluant all that Mariah can, wouldn't you?" But I couldn't do that, plus I think it is safe to say what her answer would have been, my instructor is Catholic after all. ^_^
