Howard Stern 5

I think Howard Stern is normally too vulgar for my taste, but recently he did something that actually earned some of my respect. He sent some people into Harlem posing as survey takers or reporters to find out what people in that area were thinking regarding the upcoming presidential election. It appears Mr. Stern wanted to test a theory on voters in Harlem. And he was right. They don't know anything about what Mr. Obama or Mr. McCain stand for politically and they obviously haven't been paying attention. So why are these people really voting for Mr. Obama? It's obviously not his politics because they don't know jack-squat about either candidate. What does that leave? Skin color perhaps? You be the judge. Go to You Tube for yourself and search for Harlem voters. Listen to the sound bite and see for yourself how uninformed these people are. It's absolutely scary!!!!!!!!!! Howard, you get 5 stars for this one.

Its not just Harlem and its not just blacks. I'm sure you could go to plenty of places in this country and find people of any race who have their minds made up for either candidate, without any real knowledge of the issues.

Very true. I had a party at my house recently and one of my friends, who is actually a fairly well educated guy, told me he was voting for Mr. Obama. I asked him why and he spouted out the catch word of the election "change". I asked him to be more specific and he couldn't. We are an ill-informed and lazy society and we are going to wind up getting what we deserve. It pains me to see what is happening.

Howard's guy asked 5 people in Harlem to comment about their choice in the election. Hardly a random survey or a true sample of the overall opinion in that area. Of course it's Harlem and the presidential candidate happens to be black in a black neighborhood in a historic election where an improbable situation was taking place with Obama running for prez. with a great chance of winning. What did one expect the responses to be? The level of ignorance of the subjects is alarming, but to say we're an ill-informed society is not correct. One can turn on a TV and watch a debate, watch the news, read online or just listen to what each has to say to decide who they want to vote for. Of course people dont always do that and vote with their emotions and their hearts instead of what's in the best interests of the country. As someone who's more informed, I think the promise of Hope and Change will get us what we do deserve. It has to be better than what we've gotten ourselves into the past eight years.
