My wife and I traveled on Amtrak from Harrisburg, PA to NYC for vacation on the first week of July '07. An overall pleasant experience. On-time both ways, due to the fact that Amtrak owns the rail lines between the two points (so I'm told), so they don't have to compete with the freight trains. Staff was very friendly. Red-Cap service at Penn Station was first-rate, very accommodating in assisting with our luggage! This was our first experience with rail travel and we will definitely travel with Amtrak again!

08/18/2008		After living in DC for 10 years, I can vouch that Amtrak travel up and down the east coast is night and day from travel anywhere else Amtrak goes. DC to Wilmington, DE, the Acela train is GREAT and fancy and exactly the way it SHOULD be! I was on the train with all sorts of business people. I felt safe and comfortable, but getting off at train stations sometime scare me.
