I think that the Democrats would do so, only at their own peril. While people often don't want "religion shoved down their throat", those same people also don't appreciate someone telling a religious person that they shouldn't practice their religion. Huckabee is also able to show people that during his nearly 14 years in office, he never allowed his religious beliefs to turn Arkansas into any kind of theocracy and he has served in public government much longer than he served as a pastor.
