Once a great song, a "classic" in the genuine sense of that overused word, that has been overplayed and overplayed and overplayed unto death. Disc jockeys play this song now with the same reverence and sense of sanctity usually reserved for a religious ceremony. In a perfect world there'd be a law forbidding anyone from playing this song at all, for any reason, for at least 10 years. After that moratorium, it could again be played, and maybe it would even sound fresh once again. Then again, maybe it wouldn't.
