Gay Marriage

reviewed by James76255

On November 18, 2003, The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that gay couples are legally entitled to get married under the state's constitution, overturning a ban on same-sex marriage. President Bush has spoken out against gay marriage, and the issue figures to be important in the 2004 presidential election.

Gay Marriage 1

This is a state issue and should remain that way. The majority of people in Massachusetts believed it should be legalized, so it was voted on and it was. The majority of people in Utah did not believe it should be legalized, so it was voted down in that state. Those that don't want the federal government "in their bedroom" should stop trying to bring the federal government into it to begin with. There is no federal stance one way or the other and it should remain that way. What is deemed equal treatment under the law is decided on by the people. No, it should not be controlled by any cult, such as extremist liberals.

It was never actually voted on in Massachusetts, it was a decision by the state's Supreme Court...

James said "Those that don't want the federal government "in their bedroom" should stop trying to bring the federal government into it to begin with." and trebon agrees

It's those (people) "WHO", dammit!

The point is it was decided on a state level according to the state Constitution, and the way I have it worded is fine, dammit.

You know, I was a little out of it yesterday and didn't fully appreciate the irony of something. Someone who so rarely manages to use their own words to express themselves criticizing my choice of words. Perhaps it would be better for me to make some inane comment followed by a series of links.
