Intelligent Design--Is the theory of Intelligent Design based on the Bible? 5

Seriously?  So many people in denial of this fact.  For all those people on here who, first of all, said it is in contradiction to what we KNOW...how is that possible?  What do we REALLY know?  You throw science up in the air like it is total fact when, even as Canadasucks put it (in a different review) ~ that science is based on faith.  It is said that over 500 people saw Jesus rise from the dead (documented) and some of you don't believe that.  Yet, your willing to say that the earth was created by a big explosion (sorry, how many people saw that?).  I just don't understand what so many people are afraid of.  Why is it such a big deal to offer kids another explanation of how the world was created, and than let them choose?  What irritates me is that people say that they are so open minded and free-spirited and take the "whatever floats your boat" approach to life ~ but on this issue, they take a FIRM stance against it.  What gives?  You can't be a "free-thinker" if you want to close out others' beliefs.

Science is based on faith, but I wouldn't equate it with religious faith (which is a hypothesis that cannot be measured) 'Gravity' (a universal law until proven otherwise) is the scientific construct that we base everything (everything) on. We have a pretty good idea (without absolute proof) of what causes gravity. This means there is an element of faith in science. The faith that one being created everything (with me in mind) and watches over me (constantly) and holds me to impossible standards of behavior (meant to create guilt and fear) and punish me when I don't behave according to man's interpretation of said 'laws' (obedience/instruction) lest I suffer for an eternity is faith of a different level and intensity. Still, I absolutely believe that there is an element of faith in science.

BTW, "God's said Laws" are the basis for the laws we observe today.
