Abercrombie & Fitch 3

I actually don't mind Abercrombie; I like their perfume, and the atmosphere is interesting and different. The style of clothes is also pretty close to my taste (I generally shop at places like AE and Pacsun, as well as cheaper places like Kohl's and Wal Mart, lol). What I don't like, however, is that they sell sex to 15 year olds and may be guilty of discrimination against certain groups of people. My friend and I did an experiment at our local Abercrombie and Fitch store. We went in at the same time. I am about a size 22, and she is about a size 4, and what we found interesting was that the salespeople greeted...my friend. Just her. I mean they were really on top of her, asking her what she was looking for and all that. I hadn't really shopped at Abercrombie before, so I was a little confused, until we started looking at some of the clothes, and then we realized that the sizes were completely different than normal sizes in most stores. First of all, if I can recall, they have xs, s, m, and l. And the large, to be honest, looks like it would be labeled medium or even small in another store. Not to mention it is $70 for like a belt...lol. It's kind of sad, because I like the Abercrombie image and all that, but it makes me sad that they aim to exclude. Fashion should be for everyone; everyone deserves to feel sexy and gorgeous.

I agree with the comment about how it's expensive, but I DID find some small contradictions in your statement.

If you're a size 22, how do you shop at Pac Sun or American Eagle? I, being a size 16, barely fit into pac Sun, but AE is just fine. And obviously, if you 'shop' at these places, they'd treat you the same as they did at Abercrombie.

I also find it interesting that you even went in there. You and me both know that you've seen people wearing Abercrombie before. And admit it- they were tiny. The thing that gets me the most is that you'd DEGRADE yourself by shopping at stores that DO NOT cater to your size. Sorry if I sound like a bitch, but you sound like an idiot to me.

Your friend probably conducted this 'experiment' to get a kick out of bringing a 'chubby chick' into a 'skinny store'. At least that's what I got out of it. Abercrombie has very little style and it's mostly worth crap. The people that wear it look like shit, definitely not "sexy and gorgeous". That's just ridiculous. You can achieve that without restricting yourself to wear shitty, unoriginal clothes that are made for anorexic teenage sluts.
