Should students be required to wear uniforms at school?

"Bad theory. The idea that if kids wear uniforms to school it helps keep order. Don't these schools do enough damage makin' all these kids think alike? Now they're gonna get 'em to look alike too? And it's not a new idea. I first saw it in news reels from the 1930s, but it was hard to understand 'cause the narration was in German!" -- George Carlin
You are absolutely correct JimW1, school is about learning. And learning has absolutely nothing to do with dress code. How much have you learned sitting in front of your computer wearing nothing but your underwear? You don't have to answer that, by the way. Uniforms are about conformity and obedience. Learning should be about inspsiring inquisitiveness, and promoting critical thinking. If you haven't come out of the school system with the ability to be analytical, you haven't learned much. And if you have learned to be analytical you will hopefully find yourself asking questions like "Why the hell am I wearning this stupid uniform?"
