Life's Abundance 1

No way a top 10 Dog food. The first ingredient is meat but then we see not to far some dried beet pulp and it is not a good filler and I won't feed m dogs that. Also manufacturer does not say fish product is free of ethoxyquin. Not enough meat to be in the top 10 so I think it should be dropped way down so it gets a 1.

Here is what they says about the beet pulp: "Our minerals are chelated for maximum absorption. We use probiotics and beet pulp which promote a healthy digestive tract. Lactobacillus Acidophilus helps to maintain the delicate balance of friendly bacteria in your dog's intestines. Beet pulp is a great source of fiber and unlike many other fiber sources, produces special components called short chain fatty acids which the good bacteria in your dog's intestines depend upon for food." "Our premium dog food is more nutrient dense and doesn't contain cereal and fillers found in other pet foods. Lifes Abundance premium dog food is a high antioxidant formula and contains 3 sources of superior protein; chicken meal, egg and fish meal plus carrots, blueberries and more." And from a Q and A with the Vet who creates their formulas: Q. There is chicken meal in Life's Abundance - Isn't chicken better? A. NO! Chicken Meal is just the meat whereas just chicken can contain water, fat, skin and bones. Chicken Meal is a pure meat source because the water is drained and the rest is removed! In addition, make sure if your pet food label reads chicken meal there aren't any by-products (beaks, intestines, animal necks, feet, undeveloped egg etc,) in the food.
