Everyone that gave Florida a bad review needs to understand what they are comparing it to. Most of the negative opinions that were given had no good reason or justification. Most of them simply said… “To hot, to humid” ……..WTF!!!!!!!! Are you serious! I am living in Maryland right now (can’t wait to move back to fl) and the summers up here are insane. Do some research and you will discover that Tampa, fl has never, ever hit 100F, The Record being 99F. Most states are hot as hell during the summer, but what happens around November? The temp goes down anywhere from -10F to 40F depending on the state and everything freezes. Snow is only pretty for about 2 hours until it is half-melted and turned brown and grey from debris to match the beautiful northern winter grey sky. Ok, now what happens in Florida in November? An average high of 77F low of 53F all the way thru April isn’t too bad. Not to mention the gorgeous sunsets, lightning, and clouds. One review actually focused on hurricanes. I lived there eight years in Tampa and actually evacuated once. My house was never damaged. My aunt lives in Valrico, just outside Tampa, and has owned her house for 18 years. She has never replaced a single shutter or broken window from a big bad hurricane! The word hurricane is overrated, everyone thinks that it automatically means mach 3 winds and complete devastation of all living organisms…that’s just irrational. The hurricane season doesn’t last 8 months either, if it is hit it is from August to November, rarely any other time. And most rainstorms are very quick and the sun is back out in a flash. Speaking of sun… according to Wikipedia… “With a purported average of some 360 days of sunshine each year, St. Petersburg is nicknamed “The Sunshine City””. Most other US states cannot brag 5 overcast days a year! Florida is a very dynamic state. There is something here for everyone. So before you say anything positive or negative about any state, check out all it has to offer and then compare it to a few other states you have lived in. Thanks
