Intelligent Design is the acceptance and scientifically proven fact that the Universe and life could not have come into existence by chance, but by the action and purpose of a Being who is the author and Creator of all things. Even as it supports the account of Genesis regarding Creation, the proponents of Intelligent Design are not necessarily religious people or Christians. Objective and intellectually honest scientists are exploring Intelligent Design in order to make sense of all things that the evolution theory cannot explain in scientific terms. More and more prominent scientist of all disciplines are changing their subjective holding in the evolution theory and produce more and more evidence of intelligence and purpose behind the existence of all things.

. . .which is far more appropriate (and indeed interesting) as a philosophy course- but it isn't science.

When you say "scientifically proven" what exactly do you mean? Intelligent Design was put forth by a lawyer and not a scientist, right?

You cannot apply the Laws of Physics (ie.e the law of conservation of energy) when the Laws of Physics has not even been set, since in order to have the Laws of Physics active, you actually need a physical Universe. But, before Creation, there was no physical anything.

Idiocy. Life doesn't happen by 'chance' but by a scientific process which we are (presently) exposing through painful calculated discovery- which increasingly makes the babbling creationist theory increasingly weak. . .

Even Quantum Mechanics and string theory requires the existence of a physical Universe for them to function. We get back to the original question of how did the Universe came into existence?

That is my point. Honest seekers of the truth will never discard one theory only because they don't agree with it. So, all things must be objectively analyzed and weighted. That is not what the neo lib educational system encourages. They discard any opposing view against evolution, making the forceful indoctrination of a theory just as dangerous as the indoctrination of religious fundamentalism. Fortunately, people are opening their eyes and minds to more than a one sided, unproven and unprovable explanation of existence.
