American Bandstand

Teen dance show staring Dick Clark. A dance floor was filled with teens dancing to the latest moves. Featured a segment that "rated" new songs for dance-ablity, "beat", etc. It showcased rock-and-roll bands and singers.

 


Spike65

A must-see show of the era. The only time you got to see the artists whose songs were played on the radio. One of the first shows I remember that had African-American artists performing their hits on television.
