Contrary to public opinion (which shows disapproval for the Iraq War sitting at about 67%), most people are not actually anti-war. Oppositions to war in general arises when the conflict is not managed competently. Going back to the Iraq War, 75% of the American public agreed originally to go to war, despite the fact that it was fairly well known that they were not really a threat and they had very little to do with terrorism. The public will support a war if its executed quickly and with decisive force. Pacifism doesn't sell, even during blunderous wars like the one we are currently in. Anti-war groups have a strong following within the Democratic party, but they do not influence policy as much as is believed.
