Donald Sutherland's out of time hippie tank driver Oddball is a lark. The film was a bit dry for a screwball war comedy compared to Catch 22 or the later Donald Sutherland vehicle, M*A*S*H. The film turns out to be an interesting template for David O. Russell's superior Three Kings, made 30 years later.
