I wish I had checked this site before I opened an account for my college student. As stated before, Suntrust's policy of charging overdrafts (of $35.00 now)as soon as something is pending. We experienced the same death spiral of charges. The bottom line is, a 19 year old student deposited $350 over 15 days, spent $165 AND INCURRED $420 WORTH OF FEES. Horrible customer service, no help and no refunds. AND BY THE WAY, the 1st bank fee for "unavailable funds" was the item that overdrew the account. AVOID this bank.
