I asked one of my friends from Israel if they let gay people serve in the army there.  They do.  He was actually pretty surprised by the question. Everyone has to serve, so why should gay people be treated any differently?

What he said was: "It is enough that they are willing to die."

Yeah but that's Isreal. They need every able-bodied person available to fight for their country. The US can afford to be choosy.
