Washington, D.C.

reviewed by jtrough5

Washington, D.C., is surrounded on three sides by Maryland and bordered on the southwest by the Potomac River. Each of the city's four quadrants is mapped in relation to the Capitol, which is considered the city's center. The population of Washington, D.C., is approximately 550,000.

I've been living in DC for 3 years and can definitely say it is one of the best cities in the US. It is very unique, clean, and very pretty for the most part. Isolated areas of the city (where there is no need to go) are very ghetto, but nothing that you don't see in other cities. The description of crime from other people who have posted are totally exaggerated. DC is very diverse and has a great nightlife and tons of things to do for people of all ages. My ranking of best American cities: 1- San Francisco, 2- New York, 3- DC, 4- Chicago, 5- Boston

This is a fair review. DC is an up-and-coming city in that it is evoloving into more than a capital city, becoming more of a cosmopolitan place with a diversity of people, places, events that make it on par with a NYC, LA, SF, Chicago. It's not a Top 3 city in the USA. Maybe Top 5. Maybe........
