My town, and is it ever a tough place to be a fan of the local boys. The NHL Canucks have been around for nearly 40 years, have gone to the Cup Final and lost twice, and more often than not miss the playoffs, while playing excrutiatingly dull hockey.

The short-lived NBA Grizzlies regularly stunk the joint out before slinking off to Memphis to continue their "winning tradition"

The CFL Lions are the sole bright spot, such as it is, having won 5 titles in 50 years with years in between that made Miami's 2007 season look like a success story.

Vancouver fans, particularly hockey fans, are sick and twisted, angry and depraved.

Vancouver fans, particularly hockey fans, are sick and twisted, angry and depraved - And those are the seasons ticket holders!

Well, to me, the Moore incident started it all. First Bert was shipped out, then Nazzy stopped producing. Then Jovo was shipped out, and Crowford was let go. The next thing you know is the team lost a lot of fans (including myself) who aren't residents of Vancouver. You're right about the bad scouting. Don't get me wrong though, I love the Big Bert and I don't blame him for what happened.

I don't think the Moore incident had much to do with it. I think a stagnant front office, and an unimaginative coach, together with bad scouting and underachieving players are the fundamental cause.

I miss the days when Nazzy, Mo, and Big Bert are still together on the first line, backed by Ohland and Jovo Cop, then second lined by the ever so promising Sedin twins. Those were the days when the team looked stellar and it was definitely going places. I think the Moore's incident has somehow impacted the team in a greater magnitude than ever imagined.
