Okay so at first when I read this I thought "Wow this is pretty good.'
And then when I was done I realized what I spent my time on. I spent it on a book where there's no character development, no good plot line, and no real detail.
I swear to god this was the WHOLE plot line.
"I woke up. I went to school. I thought about Edward Cullen. OHHH HIS AMBER EYES! I came home. I talked to my dad Charlie. I thought about Edward Cullen."
And that's not all. Let's take Edward for example. He's supposed to be a beautiful PEFRECT vampire. But to be honest, he is NOTHING special. He is BORING. In some books, character personalties just fly off the page. But not with Edward. "OHH HIS CROOKED SMILE!" and that's pretty much it. Plus his dialogue is put into about 3 categories. 1- "Bella you are my moon and stars. I love you." 2-"Who says you can state your own opinions? I'm a vampire and I'm always right." 3-"Bella we cannot get too intimate. One wrong move and I can kill you."
I don't know what girls find in that BORING character.
Then we've got Bella. If she was going to be a narrator, then I would expect her to really display her feelings--and she did-- and it was nauseating. It got to the point where I wanted to throw the book away. Every single page was about Edward. She had no life! It's all about Edward! She's a whiny little bitch who wants to have her cake and eat it. I couldn't even listen to her remarks anymore.
This whole book was 500 pages of FLUFF.
And yes Stephenie did make some good points in this book but really, I thought Charlie had more personality than all the characters put together.
She had such nice characters that could have been turned into something more! For instance Emmett. She could have made him super funny and goofy but she hardly did that. Everything seemed so serious. Rosalie was too hostile about everything! That's one of the things I found amusing.
And Alice- she could have been cuter. She could have had a humorous side that LOVES to shop-and yes she does, but it could've been shown a little more.
But I must say that I did love Jasper. He seemed to be cute and sensitive. Although there wasn't much mentioned about him, I did like his cool character. WOW THERE'S SOMETHING WE DON'T SEE EVERY DAY!
I also did like the lullaby that Edward made for Bella. I thought that was sweet and very romantic.
The book could've been a lot better. And maybe if people would stop making such a big deal out of it, it might be better. People only think it's good because some of them haven't read a single book in their lives. Honestly, read something like Jane Austen or Jodi Picoult and then tell me how good that book was!
