That is as irresponsible as it can get. If you excuse, defend and justify your child's behavior or actions, regardless of the gravity or consequences, you are teaching your child that there is no responsibility in life and that they can get away with anything they want, that there is no price to pay for any wrongdoing and no one is held accountable for their mistakes.
