It depends. If you criticize constructively, then you are helping him grow stronger, and ultimately helping him to conquer the terrorists. If you criticize with the sole objection of undermining him, then you are undermining support and confidence in him, and are thus giving a mental boost to the cause of the terrorists.
But, this is working on the basis that the President gives a backwards toss about what you personally, think, a basis which is obviously not true.
That's the beauty of democracy, eh?
