Why? Because Dan Brown says so? Maybe Dan Brown has a time machine and went back and got all this information from Leonardo himself. As a matter of fact, Dan Brown took Leonardo back in time in the Upper Room and painted the picture live. Hey, everything is possible in Brown's little mind.
