Shocker never had a losing season from 1916-1928, though a couple of .500 ones. Won 27 games in 1921 and 24 in 1922. A clever pitcher who was also a strikeout guy for that time. Also won over 20 in 1920 and 1923 with St. Louis, and 19 and 18 upon returning to the Yankees in 1926 and 1927. Though relatively obscure today, he was one of the best American League pitchers from 1920-1927. Started out as a sort of spot starter / reliever with the Yankees, but was traded to St. Louis in a deal that the Yankees probably regretted, though they did receive Del Pratt, one of the best hitting second basemen of that time. Died young, as irishgit mentioned below. All time great name too
