You're kidding me. This putz is on the list and Babe Ruth, Tris Speaker, Jackie Jensen, Bobby Doerr, Jerry Remy, Fred Lynn, Jim Lonborg and Bill Lee are not.......
There's no justice....
Schiraldi had two years in Boston as a middle reliever, set up man. Appeared in about 80 games and pitched 130 innings with 12 wins and 15 saves. Decent strikeout guy but allowed way too many baserunners, and wilted under pressure.
Famously had the Sox one STRIKE away from a World Series title in 1986 not once but twice, and gave up the runner both times, which ultimately led to the Buckner error.
Fake Boston fans bitch at Buckner for that series. Real Boston fans castigate Schiraldi, Stanley and manager McNamara first, before they piss on Bill.
After leaving Boston, Schiraldi kicked around with the Cubs(good place for him)the Padres and Rangers before somebody pulled the plug on a thoroughly mediocre career.
