Many seem to forget that the war of 1991 was never ended, no peace treaty was signed. We continued to be in a state of war with Iraq after 1991, even as hostilities ceased. The mistake is not the current "war", it is the failure to finish the job started in 1991. Saddam Should have been removed from power then. Because of our hesitation, the situation in Iraq deteriorated to a point that we needed to finish what we started.
