They don't do it to look cool, they do it because their parents frustrate the hell out of them. Often, parents frustrate the hell out of them because the parents are doing what they think is best. It's a normal part of growing up, it's how kids let their parents know that they aren't babies any more. Parents have to learn to see it for what it is, but continue to do their jobs as parents. It doesn't make it any eaiser that the teenagers dress weird and don't want to know about what it was like when I was their age.
