We rented from the LAX office last month. At first we thought we were getting a great deal. Soon after leaving the rental building, the car started a mild clunking. We didn't think much of it, so we drove to Palm Springs as planned. The next day the clunking continually got worse so we called to have them bring us another car. They told us that they couldn't do that, we'd have to bring it back the 1.5 hours to LA. Ok, if we have to. Well, halfway back to LA, the car died on Highway 10. We had to coast across 3 lanes of traffic to the shoulder. We called them and told them we needed a car brought to us, we were on the side of the road, but they told us that they were understaffed. They told us we couldn't leave the car and had to wait for a tow truck. 3 hours later one came and we had to cram ourselves into the towtruck for the hour drive to the Fox station. This was now 1:00am and we still had to drive back to Palm Springs. They gave us a new car... we thought "stuff happens, oh well"
2 weeks later we got a bill for repairs to the car with a letter accusing us of filling the tank with diesel. And now, 2 weeks after getting the letter, with all the proof (receipts and milage) that we didn't do it... we're still getting the run around & a threat of collections.
Pay a few dollars more and go somewhere else.
