History proves the biblical account of Jesus...

Jesus never existed. The Romans, who kept better records than anyone in the ancient world, have no record of him or of his crucifixion. Also, he left no writings -- everything about him is recorded several hundred years after he was supposed to have lived. Prove me wrong.

Auto you reposting this does not make your statement any less ridiculous. Why would you make such a ridiculous statement? Are you wanting to start a controversy. Are you doing it for shock value? Are you trying to create interest because you work for RIA?

Auto why would you make such a ridiculous statement? Are you wanting to start a controversy. Are you doing it for shock value? Are you trying to create interest because you work for RIA? ". . .Nero procured others to be accused, and inflicted exquisite punishment upon those people, who were in abhorrence for their crimes, and were commonly known by the name of Christians. They had their denomination from Christus (Christ, dm.), who in the reign of Tibertius was put to death as a criminal by the procurator Pontius Pilate. . . .At first they were only apprehended who confessed themselves of that sect; afterwards a vast multitude discovered by them, all of which were condemned, not so much for the crime of burning the city, as for their enmity to mankind. . . ." (Tacitus, Annals, 15, 44). "At that time lived Jesus, a wise man, if he may be called a man; for he performed many wonderful works. He was a teacher of such men as received the truth with pleasure. . . .And when Pilate, at the instigation of the chief men among us, had condemned him to the cross, they who before had conceived an affection for him did not cease to adhere to him. For on the third day he appeared to them alive again, the divine prophets having foretold these and many other wonderful things concerning him. And the sect of the Christians, so called from him, subsists at this time" (Antiquities, Book 18, Chapter 3, Section 1). "Testimonium Flavianum, that "About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he wrought surprising feats. He was the Christ. When Pilate condemned him to be crucified, those who had come to love him did not give up their affection for him. On the third day he appeared restored to life. And the tribe of Christians has not disappeared." Josephus was not a Christian. Therefore many believe that he could not have written anything such as the above statements. But, even so, we are left with details of a picture which tells us that the "biblical Jesus" and the "historical Jesus" are one and the same."

Um, the links you pointed me to all have the gospels as the proof. That is not actually evidence.

I can remember one former RIA reviewer (and most people here know who I'm talking about) who was very outspoken in his atheism. But even he admitted that Jesus was a real person. And history books don't deny that He was a real person. It's there. All one has to do is look a little deeper.

Um... you know even most of the hardcore skeptics say he at least was a real man, right?
