No; Dubya is a sociopathic scumbag, but American greed for oil certainly long pre-dates him-- it even pre-dates Reagan, another man of mediocre intellect and superficial morality who was at least able to read a ghost-written speech and make it seem as if he actually knew what he was talking about. In the early 70's, experts were declaring that we absolutely had to decrease our dependence on foreign oil, but who was listening? Might as well blame Bill Clinton for the current high prices (better than blaming him for that b-job, or Vince Foster's "suicide"), as he was assiduous in helping the Republicans accelerate the process of globalization, which led to increasing demands for oil in countries like China and India. Still, as Oscar mentions, when has Dubya EVER helped anything? On any issue you can name...the environment, international diplomacy, healthcare, the economy, etc., etc.,...his presidency has been a disgrace, an embarrassment, a repellent travesty. I thought if anything remotely positive could come out of this obscene Iraq fiasco he embroiled us in, or his friendships with certain Saudi Arabians, it would at least be lower gas prices (although certainly not worth 4,000 American lives and the incalculable damage that has been wrought). Wrong again. Dubya has proven once again that he's the consummate f-up.
