If you know anything about Chicago politics, you must be wary of a Chicago politician. The Chicago Democratic machine is the longest serving political regime in the world still in power. It has lasted longer than the Communists in the USSR. It came to power in 1931 and has never been voted out. It has a sorry history of crime, corruption and all kinds of acts of malfeasance, misfeasance and nonfeasance. More Illinois governors have gone to the klink than its share of the total governors in the USA in proportion. Anybody hooked up with the machine is suspect and should be avoided.
