I've never been a connoisseur-- I've always thought about coffee like I did about beer. If the beer gave me a buzz, and wasn't repulsive tasting or "skunky", I was ok with it, whether it was Budweiser, or Michelob, or Molson, or whatever. Same with coffee. If it has sufficient caffeine in it, if it wakes me up in the morning or keeps me awake at night when I need to stay awake, then I don't care if its Folger's or Maxwell House or whatever. It's ok with me. I have little patience with places like Starbuck's, where you need an interpreter to order a cup of black coffee, and generally need to extract a small fortune from your wallet to pay for it once you have successfully ordered. I also disdain places like Dunkin Donuts, where I think you pay 2-plus dollars now for a lousy cup of coffee. I used to drink a ton of coffee back in the day, which didn't help my nerves or my insomnia, so as I got older, I made a conscious decision to cut down. Currently, I have 2 cups of coffee when I get up and that's it. I drink a lot more water now and find it sometimes to be more invigorating and certainly more refreshing than I ever did coffee.
