My 9 week old son is on Nutramigen also and it has worked wonders!!! He is happy and I am happy :) Someone told me to call my insurance company because they may reimburse for this. I called them (BCBS) and they said that yes they will cover this expense. They told me to call my Pediatrician and have her write an RX for the Nutramigen and take it to a Medical Supply Warehouse (they gave me telephone numbers for locations near me) and they will treat it as an RX and I will pay a co-pay of $5.00!!! I was sooooo happy because the formula is so expensive and my son is only drinking 4 oz every 4 hours. The older he gets the more he is going to take so this really helps out.
My older son was on this formula also but I didn't know my insurance would cover it. I wish someone would have told me this before. So hopefully this info helps all of you with this expense. Good luck!
