It easy to write Obama's mis-speaking about 57 states off to fatigue. It probably was. Many of the more famous gaffes of politicians can be similarly explained, including Bush's and Quayles.
That being said, in a modern campaign world, candidates cannot afford a moment of weakness, exhaustion or inattention. And their staff is supposed to recognize the signs and take whatever steps necessary to prevent them.
Its not a good reason to vote against him. But it is a reason to have some doubts about his staff, which raises further questions, at least to someone with my background.
