I really LOVE the idea of this food, but my Rottweiler keeps getting ear infections! I rotate between Origen Fish, Adult, and Evo Red Bites, but her ears seem to be worse with the Evo. Is this a problem for anyone else? When we do switch the food, the introduction is gradual so I am not sure if that's the problem. The only complaints I have ever heard about this food is that there might be too much protein for a small dog - but she's a Rottweiler! What's up?

06/12/2008		It sounds like your dog has food allergies. My dog got horrible ear infections from his food and I couldn't figure out why. The vet said he could be allergic to his food so I did an elimination diet. Turns out he is allergic to chicken, beef, lamb and grains..yikes!! If your dog is still getting ear infections it might be related to the ingredients in the EVO. Allergy tests are often inconclusive when it comes to food. Dogs usually get an allergy to something they have been fed a long time. You could try giving your dog something it has never had like Duck and Potato or Venison and Sweet Potato. These are grain free foods and a company named Natural Balance makes them. This food was the only thing that cleared up my dog's horrible ear infections. Good Luck!!!
