Barack Obama

ItemImage

The son of a Kenyan father and American mother, Barack Obama has served as a State Senator from Illinois and a U.S. Senator. Along with Hillary Clinton, he is the favorite to win the 2008 Democratic nomination for President of the United States. Considered a rising star for the Democratic Party, Obama burst onto national prominence when he gave a keynote address at the 2004 Democratic Convention.

People need to give the whole racial thing a rest. I don't like this man because of what he stands for. He promises change, but he hasn't shared his plan for how he's going to make changes. He supports giving the Guantanamo Bay prisoners the same rights that we have. REALLY? His friends are radicals. Or rather he makes radicals his friend. He doesn't put his hand over his heart for the National Anthem, yet suggested we change the National Anthem to "I'd like to buy the world a coke". Come on people are you all really that stupid? I wouldn't care if he were purple, green or blue I just don't like him.

I'm afraid you've fallen victim to some of the misinformation about Obama that is circulating on the internet, and there's lots of it. For example, the rumor that he suggested we change the National Anthem to "I'd like to buy the world a coke" is not only false, the original falsity had him wanting to change it to the song "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing." Its origin was a made-up bit of satire by a political columnist. See the "Urban Legends Reference Pages" at http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/stance.asp. There is so much misinformation circulating that the Obama campaign recently started a page on its website to deal with some of it. See Fact Checks at http://factcheck.barackobama.com/.
